Local educators, students and business leaders joined together Wednesday, March 12th at Fabick CAT, 1 Fabick Drive, Fenton MO 63026.
The 2014 STEM Summit aimed to strengthen K-12 STEM education throughout St. Louis and Jefferson County, bringing together those who support and play a role in STEM education for the purpose of encouraging students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. The Summit connected students and other individuals with those businesses and higher education institutions which offer STEM courses in an interactive, hands-on format. This conference was organized by the Partners in Education from Rockwood School District along with the Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce. Attendees at the Summit had the opportunity to view STEM projects from local area schools such as Lindbergh, Northwest, Rockwood, Vianney and Special School District. In addition, Dr. Pam Keck, National Corn Grower Association Director of BioFuels was the Key Note Speaker. The Summit concluded with a Roundtable Discussion revolving around how educators and business can work together to better educate and guide students into STEM professions.
